The contest, that is totally free regarding the techniques, as long as the work is two-dimensional, is aimed to young artists in the field of plastic arts that didn’t have more of 30 years at the moment of the announcement and without any restriction of geographic origin.
The family Moncunill I Roca and the Museu de Manresa (Ajuntament de Manresa) presented a new call for participation to the XVI edition of the Climent Moncunill Roca award, aimed to young artists in the field of plastic arts.
The term to present the artworks finishes the January 24th 2025 (included) and have to be delivered at Centre Cultural el Casino (Passeig Pere III, 27). The winner’s artwork will become part of the museum’s collection.
The contest if totally free regarding the techniques used, as long as the work is two-dimensional. There are no restrictions for the geographical origin of the participants but they have to have less than 30 years, or they have to turn 30 during the term of the call, that is, before January 24th 2025.
Likewise, the general characteristics of the last editions remain, and there will be an exhibition of the artworks presented in the room Espai 7 of the Centre Cultural en Casino (Passeig de Pere III, 27), that will be open from February 7th to February 21 2025, coinciding with the Festes de la Llum’s programming of the city. The inauguration day the decision of the jury will be read.
The award is carried out with the collaboration of the Escola d’Art de Manresa, the Associació per al Museu de Manresa and the Cercle Artistic de Manresa.
The prize is 2.400€ for the winner and there will be an honorable mention of 1.200€.
From the VIII edition of the award had become biannual and the economical amount of the prize is 2.400 € for the winner and 1.200 for the honorable mention (in the two cases with taxes included).
The participants are normally from different places of Catalonia, but in all the editions there are artworks from different Spanish regions and sometimes from other countries, mostly because of student exchange programmes in Catalonia. The participants had stabilized around 35 artists each edition.
