The temporary exhibition on the Assembly of Catalonia tells the story of this clandestine organization that united the Catalan opposition during the Franco dictatorship. In a period in which freedom of expression and association were prohibited, the Assembly fought bravely to recover democratic freedoms, obtain amnesty for political and social prisoners, and demand the autonomy for Catalonia.
This visit will allow students to understand the political repression of that time and reflect on the importance of defending freedom of expression, citizen participation, and the democratic values that we continue to protect today.
