History of the City

Throughout the museum’s rooms, we will find various elements that bring us closer to the history of Manresa and Bages, and the people who have lived there. One of the exhibition’s objectives is to tell this story with objects and works of art that have been protagonists in it.
In the itinerary through the rooms, we will find an area where we present two specific and significant moments of this history: the stay of Ignatius of Loyola in Manresa in 1522, which also marks the transition to the Renaissance world, and the Battles of Bruc in June 1808, in the context of the Napoleonic Wars, which are a milestone in the transition from the 18th to the 19th century.
