Ceramics

The importance of Manresa in the 14th century is reflected in the city by the imposing gothic church of Santa Maria (La Seu, for the people of Manresa). This century is notably reflected in the museum’s collection of ceramics decorated in green and manganese, produced in the first third of this 14th century. A set of more than 60 vessels showcasing almost all typological varieties of a complete table setting (servers, bowls, jugs, oil cruets…) with a rich decorative theme that combines elements of Eastern and Central European tradition.

The Museum holds an important collection of Catalan ceramics spanning up to the 20th century. A selection from this collection is displayed throughout the different rooms, illustrating the various historical periods in which they were used.
