The sculptural representation of Melquisedec was part of the Altarpiece of the Capella del Santíssim in Manresa. Its artist, Josep Sunyer i Raurell, from Manres, was one of the most powerful local Baroque sculptors at the time who went beyond the Pirineus and also worked in Northern Catalonia.
